About the project
About Everyone is conductor
An immersive game, that make you be a conductor.
Many designers still present their work using flat, rigid grids that fail to capture attention. Without motion or structure that reflects creativity, even strong projects can feel uninspired and easily overlooked.
Details
A journey of symphony, An experience after concert.
The first version of Everyone Is a Conductor offers audiences excerpts from two famous pieces: Ode to the Red Flag and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor. Participants learn common conducting gestures via the touchscreen in front of them, and in the second phase, they can choose one of the pieces to conduct. During the experience, the device’s built-in motion-sensing camera captures the participant’s gestures and movements, allowing the virtual orchestra to perform the piece in sync with the participant’s conducting rhythm. After the performance, participants receive a certificate with a score and a recording of the live performance as a keepsake.
During the project’s development, the team analyzed the conductor’s score, converting each note or measure into visual cues that are easily understandable to non-musicians, thereby enhancing the entertainment value of the experience. A 360-degree immersive virtual orchestra surrounds the participant at the center, providing a more immersive orchestral atmosphere.
Since the official launch of “Everyone Is a Conductor,” the National Centre for the Performing Arts has welcomed large numbers of parents and students eager to participate. This educational yet entertaining musical experience has enriched the audience engagement for the venue’s symphony programs.
